Welcome to The New Diligence
Hi, I’m Andrew Lancaster, Portfolio Manager and Lead Wealth Planner at Crosspoint Capital Management. Over the past decade, I’ve managed portfolios for both institutions and individual investors while navigating the ever-evolving world of finance.

Why I Created This Blog
We live in a world flooded with financial content: TV shows, blogs, podcasts, YouTube channels, and social media all compete for our attention. Despite the flood of accessible investment education, people still struggle to stay out of their own way when it comes to money.

Why? Because k
nowing what to do is easy. Following through is hard.

I started The New Diligence for three main reasons:

  1. To explore various ways we can use behavioral psychology to improve our financial outlook and decision-making skills.
  2. To help investors understand common money mistakes driven by impulse and emotion.
  3. Because I believe that while technological advancements and artificial intelligence will soon deliver exceptional financial planning capabilities, they won’t replace the difficult task of managing our own worst instincts.

I chose the name The New Diligence because the connection between personal finance and behavioral psychology is still underdeveloped, despite being critical to lasting financial success. It’s a field that continues to evolve, and I want this blog to be part of that progress.

What You’ll Find Here
The New Diligence
is a discussion-based blog that explores personal finance through the lens of human behavior. Here, you’ll find reflections on money, economics, and markets, paired with insights from both academic research and real-world experience. Topics will range from retirement saving and emotional decision-making to the subtle nudges that shape our financial habits.

If you’re curious about how our minds shape our decisions, both financial and beyond, I invite you to follow along and explore how insights can lead to better habits and smarter choices.

Note: This blog is for informational purposes only. I won’t offer specific investment recommendations or personal financial advice. Instead, I’ll share examples, ideas, and frameworks to help you think more critically and make more intentional decisions.
